My Story

My PCOS story is a long one. I sat down to write it as one post, perhaps two. Eight chapters later, I realized I’d better make myself more comfortable; this was going to take a while. It’s still a work-in-progress, simultaneously relieving, therapeutic, maddening, and distressing. Of course, that’s a pretty accurate description of my journey.

    Yeah PCOS sucks.
Funny thing is during the worst of my PCOS symptoms two years ago I found a great website that has a book published by a natropath about the PCOS diet and infertility.

I was just getting into Paleo at this time and already pretty convinced that a Paleo diet would at the very least reduce and minimize the worst PCOS symptoms.

I ordered the book from the website figuring it would probably be some vegetarin quack about a low fat diet helping PCOS. Well I was WRONG! the diet in the book WAS a Paleo diet with TONS of information specifically for women who deal with PCOS. This book along with Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson, and Everyday Paleo has given me all the information I need for my own and my families’ health.

Thanks so much for sharing Johanna. I saw this book at one point and thought, “Whatever, another rip-off looking to steal my money and my spirit.” But now I’ll totally check it out.

    Hi ya both!

Is this book worth buying even if I’m already on paleo diet (and now I’ll experiment with ditching nuts, seeds, nightshades and eggs aka doing the autoimmune protocol)? I’ve just been diagnosed and now I’m gathering info… I’m determined to reverse my pcos. :-)

    Take care, peer pcos’! :-D

I haven’t read it yet. I’ve been plowing through a lot of the Paleo resources first, but it’s definitely on the radar. I’d love to hear your review if you end up getting it.
